Kareem ‘Biggs’ Burke was arrested with 42 other people in a massive marijuana ring that allegedly controlled the marijuana market in New York City. Burked has been a part of the ring since 1992 and Federal prosecutors claim that Burke was part of a network that was headed up by Geovanny Rodriguez Perez aka “Shorty.”
Everyone knows Cypress Hill for their music and of course for their support on the green front. They are big into smoking marijuana. Just listen to the Black Sunday album and you’ll be instantly hooked. Well this Saturday they are throwing their own official smoke out, hence the name the Cypress Hill Smokeout.
Very strange to say, but yes Facebook has been donating for the YES on Prop 19. Sean parker, one of the Co-founders has donated $100,000 to the cause of legalization. Dustin Moskovitz, has also donated about $50,000 himself. The Just Say Now page on Facebook is dedicated to the legalization of marijuana, introducing articles related to the subject. It has a few hundred people a day as of now, but its gaining quick as it already has 18,000 members. Of course Facebook is under scrutiny because they had banned promotions that had the inclusion of a pot leaf on it, which is just a little hypocritical if you ask me.
One of Oakland’s activists, Richard Lee, has put in $1.4 million of his own money to back Prop 19, which would make marijuana totally lawful if approved by voters in November. The chief financial baker of Prop 19 is Philip D. Harvey, who’s made a fortune selling adult-films and erotic paraphernalia. Harvey is president of the PHE Group, which owns Adam & Eve, a mail-order and web location for erotica out of Hillsborough, NC.
Mr. Nice is a story of the rise of a drug smuggler named Howard Marks and the character eventually becomes imprisoned in the U.S. inside of the 1980s. Rhys Ifans is the person who is playing Mr. Marks in the movie.
A lot of you may know him as X-Pac of the WWE, but his name is Sean Waltman. Mr. Waltman was arrested for possessing a joint at Newark International Airport back on September 12. He said the night before he was robbed and that’s why he didn’t have his ID when approached. The officer than conducted a search and seizure and found ½ a joint on the former WCW cruiserweight and former WWF light heavyweight champ.
Comic Ralphie May was detained at the international airport in Guam after he was suspected of having a bag of marijuana in his luggage. May was the winner of NBC’s Last Comic Standing and has been a former cast member on VH1’s Celebrity Fit Club.
Nearly 4,000 people made it out in Joplin Saturday at the 11th annual Cannabis Revival for the legalization of marijuana. The crowd was in chant directed from the stage advocating “freedom” and they want it “now”.
Steve Bloom and Shirley Halperin’s new upcoming book is causing Hollywood to literally go up in smoke. Celebs are opening up about their love of pot-fueled movie watching. Jason Mraz reveals one of his favorite marijuana movies as R. Kelly’s 12-part “Trapped in the Closet”. Mraz said, “It’s full of surprises and bizarre sex scandals, perfect for a group viewing.” Some other celebrities to contribute to the book are Taryn Manning, Adrienne Curry, and of course Snoop Dogg.
