After police raided a woman’s house in Lake County last week, the couple pleaded guilty to marijuana possession.  A man from Waukengan and a Wildwood woman were both arrested after the raid.

Simmie Sims, 35, has been sentenced to 18 months in prison and Shanda Lezine, 36, received two years on probation as a result of their guilty plea to the police.  They were charged on possession of marijuana with the intent to deliver.  Lake County Assistant State’s Attorney, Brett Henne, said agents served the search warrant at 33000 block of Indian Lane.  When police arrived they found Lezine sitting in a car in the driveway with about two ounces of marijuana in the vehicle.  When police went inside the home they found Sims with six ounces of marijuana in his possession.

Police also seized $984 in cash and a digital scale during the raid.  Henne told Circuit Judge James Booras that Sims had multiple convictions of drug possession during 1993, 2001, 2003, and 2005.  Lezine had no prior criminal history.
